The Shield Challenge was held on the 7th March 2010 and the day dawned bright and sunny. Many thanks to Jan and Stretch who hosted this year on their lovely property on Morley Road in Glenbrook.
TARC fought hard but were outclassed by a very strong FARG team. Well done FARG, it was a well deserved win.
Well done to the TARC members who showed some very good form.

Franklin Adult Riding Club
Each year our club competes against the Franklin Adult Riding Group in a friendly Shield Challenge. It is based around the North Island Teams Event but set as individuals with the top 6 scores in each phase from each club used for the overall placing.
This event is set up as a Mini NITE with 3 phases – the Obstacle Course, Dressage test and a Gamblers Stakes Show Jumping.
This is a great day to get to know other adult riders in our area and is a very competitive event between the clubs. Riders are able to ride more than 1 mount but must nominate 1 for the scores to go forward to the final total.
Club uniforms are required for this event. Saddle Blankets are available for the day only, and you should have already purchased your polo shirt which must be worn.
When all horses are put to bed we usually have a BBQ dinner and social drinks to top off a fantastic day.
FARG are the current holders of the Shield
